Specifications for Engraving your Sheet Metal Parts

With meviy, you have the option of having your sheet metal parts engraved. In contrast to conventional marking methods such as labels, tags or stickers, this saves you additional material and labor costs. Furthermore, engraving is permanent and therefore prevents fading, wear and tear or similar.

  • Available characters for engraving are: Letters, numbers and special characters (+-. #$%&()=*:? /_~)
  • The engraving is done either by laser or by machine. However, this cannot be specified
  • Surface-treated parts are treated after laser processing and before machining
  • The engraving can be inserted on any surface of the part
  • You can perform multiple engravings on one part, as well as on a single surface
  • You can adjust the font size to the size of the interface
  • Please note that, depending on the material and surface treatment, the engraved characters may become blurred

If you have any further questions, please contact our meviy support.

Mounting Nuts with meviy

The mounting of nuts is crucial for stable connections in construction and repair projects. Precision in selection and application is essential for the safety and reliability of the connection. Below is an example of how you can customize the nut mounting in meviy.

Example for nut mounting in meviy 3d viewer.

Please note that when selecting the nut mounting in meviy, the information on the mounting holes must be adjusted. You have the options of press fit, spot welding or arc welding. However, it is not possible to use multiple fastening methods for the same model. The available nominal diameters vary depending on the hole diameter of the mounting hole and are specified in the table below.

Press-in Nut
Welding Nut (Spot and Arc Welding)
Nominal diameter of the press-in nut Upper limit for the diameter of the pilot hole (d) Example
M3 d ≤ 5.5 Example for a press-in nut.
M4 d ≤ 7.0
M5 d ≤ 8.0
M6 d ≤ 10.0
M8 d ≤ 13.0
Nominal diameter of the press-in nut Upper limit for the diameter of the pilot hole (d) Example
M4 d ≤ 11.0 Example of a press-in nut.
M5 d ≤ 11.0
M6 d ≤ 11.0
M8 d ≤ 15.0
M10 d ≤ 17.0
M12 d ≤ 19.0
